We only make one thing, and it's a Salt Cellar.

Creative cooking is flexible and improvisational.  Salt is the universal tool of every cook, and understanding it is key to creating great food.  Salting by hand is a ritual.  Salting should be freeform and work with the cook’s intuition.

An uncovered salt dish is open to debris, oils, and moisture from the kitchen.  A typical salt pig’s hooded dish partially protects salt from debris, but leaves salt exposed to elements when not in use.  Salt pigs become harder to use as the supply goes down.

With our design, a gratifying tilt and flip takes salt from the cellar below to the dish above.  It combines the preservation of a jar, the efficiency of a dish, and the protective hood of a salt pig. Any unused salt goes back into the cellar with a quick tilt and shake.

The glazed interior holds 10oz of salt.  The upper dish provides easy access to quick pinches of salt.  The hood can be used to scoop measured quantities with a spoon, and deflects debris and oil.

It’s surprisingly satisfying to use.
